Scroll down to learn more about Village Council Member Rock Abboud.
I have been a Village resident since 1974, and it has been my honor to be a member of the Village of Beverly Hills Council for the past 8 years. My wife and I have been married for 34 years, and our two adult children, raised in the Village, one a doctor the other a local high school teacher. I attended Groves High School and received an MBA from LTU. After spending 22 years as a marketing executive, I am currently working as a Marketing Consultant.
I am seeking another term to help continue making our community a safe place to live and raise a family. My position as an elected voting delegate for both SEMCOG and MML gives me state-level learning, which can better our great community.
I also serve on the Senior Advisory Council for Oakland County, enabling me to inform our Village’s aging population about resources that help them stay independent and a part of the Village Community.
Currently, I am the Village of Beverly Hills Council Member liaison to Birmingham Next Community Center and also a member of Next. Where over 600 Village residents 50 and above enjoy all the Center offers.
In summary, I am a qualified 8-year Senior Council Member who is passionate about serving the residents of the
Village of Beverly Hills, seeking re-election with your Vote and Support!

Areas of our Community that I am committed to working on include:

Infrastructure
The Village takes excellent care of the primary and secondary roads and continues maintenance, repairs, and improvements. I support a walkable community with bike paths. Also, voted to support the infrastructure planning grant.
I serve on the Michigan Municipal League (MML) Road, Technology, and Infrastructure Committee to better understand and share information with the Village of Beverly Hills residents.
Serving on the Water Task Force for the Southeast Michigan Council Of Government (SEMCOG) to find ways to remediate stormwater overflow.
In addition, I was recently elected to the Regional Clearinghouse Committee. RC2 serve several functions:
-
Selection of projects to be funded annually by the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP).
-
Selection of other awards as funding is available (Safe routes to school)
-
Oversight of the Taubman Fellowship Program.
Community Parks and Recreation
Supported a Millage to fund, improve, beautify, Beverly, Riverside and the newly established Beverly Green Park.

Public Safety
The Village of Beverly Hills is one of the safest communities to raise a family. Supporting and funding our Public Safety (Police/Fire) is vital in keeping our community safe.
Where a generation of young adults wants to come back home to the Village to raise their new family in a safe and friendly community.
The Village of Beverly Hills, is one of the most sought out Residential Community in the entire County.

Education and Baldwin Library
My children and I attended the Birmingham Public School system in Beverly Hills, one of the best in the state!
The educational foundation they received in the school district had prepared them for college and careers as a local teacher and doctor.
A great school district and resources like the Baldwin Public Library is invaluable.
Village Administration
During my tenure as President Pro Tem and Village Council Member, I served on the personnel committee who was instrumental in hiring our current Village Clerk. Most recently, I voted and supported hiring our new Village Manager. Currently, all significant positions are filled with seasoned professionals making the Village Administration the best in the County.
