Get to Know Rock
Rock Abboud has called Beverly Hills home since 1974. He attended Groves High School and later earned an MBA from Lawrence Technological University. After a 22-year career as a marketing executive, he continued working as a marketing consultant.
He and his wife, Nancy, have built their life in the Village, where they raised their two children, Ryan and Amber, both proud graduates of Birmingham Public Schools. After graduating from Groves High School and Michigan State University, their children went on to careers in medicine and education.
Beverly Hills is not simply the community Rock represents, it is the place he has called home for most of his life. He grew up here, attended local schools, raised his family here, and built lasting connections with neighbors and community institutions.
That long relationship with the Village has shaped how he approaches public service: with gratitude, responsibility, and a genuine desire to give back to the place that has given so much to him. Serving on Village Council has allowed him to help protect the qualities residents value while also planning thoughtfully for the community’s future.
A Longstanding Commitment to Older Adults
One area of public service that has been especially important to Rock is supporting older adults and helping residents remain active, independent, and connected to their communities.
He has served on the Oakland County Senior Advisory Council since 2009, including as a past chair and current at-large member. The council advises Oakland County on the needs of older adults, identifies gaps in services, and helps connect residents with programs and resources that support quality of life and aging in place.
Rock also serves as the Village of Beverly Hills municipal representative to Birmingham Next, a nonprofit serving adults 50+ in Beverly Hills, Birmingham, Bingham Farms, Franklin, and surrounding communities through programming, support services, transportation, enrichment, and opportunities for connection.
